Waiting on Wednesday - 02 February 2011

Whoah I cannot believe its middle of the week already! Time is flying so fast! Next year its the big three oh for me! Argggg! But at least its only 233 more days until my trip to Italy! Yes, I am counting down that far! Anyway the book that I'm waiting for this week is not nearly so far along...

WoW is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. My pick this week is The Throne of Fire by Rick Riordan. I must admit to being a big fan of Riordan after the Percy Jackson series, mainly because of the witty and dry humour of Percy as a character. These aspects are also present in the Kane Chronicles series and I just love the mythology aspects of these books (Egyption Mythology) in this series. The Throne of Fire is the second instalment to the series and is due for release on 3 May 2011! I can hardly wait! PS. The covers are very colourful and pretty!

Here is the blurp from Goodreads:

In this exciting second installment of the three-book series, Carter and Sadie, offspring of the brilliant Egyptologist Dr. Julius Kane, embark on a worldwide search for the Book of Ra, but the House of Life and the gods of chaos are determined to stop them.

What are you waiting on this week?

I loved the Percy Jackson books too, but I wasn't as fond of the Kane Chronicles. I think I just like the Greek Mythology more than the Egyptian Mythology. Riordan is a great writer though no matter what he writes. He is so funny in both series that it makes the books exciting to read.

Oh, wow! You just have to love that cover. Simply gorgeous! I need to read the Percy Jackson series. :) My cousin actually met Rick Riordan at a book signing.

I liked the Red Pyramid a lot and am excited about The Throne of Fire as well! My husband and I went to Italy on vacation almost five years ago, right before we started having kids. It was our best vacation ever! Ah, the memories.....

I had thought about getting this series for my son, he isn't a big fan of reading.
