Firelight Book 1

Firelight (Firelight, #1)Firelight by Sophie Jordan

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I don't know what I expected when I started reading this book, but it was definitely not more of the Twilight'esque story lines which is reigning young adult fiction at the moment. This story could be a carbon copy of the werewolf, vampire and pixie (fairy) stories which I have read in the last couple of months, just replace those mythical creatures will dragonlike creatures.

Be that as it may, on its own I suppose the book reads easily and is fairly uncomplicated. The plot is not very strong and as a character I found Jacinda to be an exceptionally weak character and Will not very much better. The love story between them is not particularly inspiring and the only person that shows any kind of real passion might be the Dark Prince of the Pride who wants to clip Jacinda's wings. The ending was much too abrupt.

Although I finished this book in one sitting and although I did not completely dislike it, I also wouldn't not say I enjoyed it.

I haven't finished this book yet but so far I agree with your opinion of Jacinda's character. I can't stand how she waffles back and forth about whether or not to be with Will - it's like ugh god just pick SOMETHING and stick with it!!

I'll let you know my final rating of the book when I finish it =)
